Tutorial Four and Five

This tutorial was about video production.

YouTube offers a range of services, the main service that is used is uploading pictures onto it and watching some of the many videos that other users have uploaded. This is similar to blogs as you create a profile and get a collection of videos you have uploaded under the username. You can add people as friends and follow the videos that they upload.

Storyboarding is a series of drawings of the proposed film as they will appear on screen. By Storyboarding the short film before filming it, you can check progress and add or discard scenes. This allows you to have a clear idea and picture of each scene and how it is meant to go. We found that by storyboarding our short film everybody understood what we were doing and in which order, it saved us time and confusion.

The script is how the characters are going to communicate with the audience. This does not have to be through speech, it can be facial expressions, moods, lighting, sound effects and movement etc. We planned how we were going to get our point across in the script, which meant the person filming it knew what type of camera angle we wanted and what the people being filmed were required to do to achieve the desired effect.
